Wrathful Dispersion appears to owe a great deal of its tenacity to its steadfast refusal to offer specific answers to just about any question. Unlike "young-tongue" Babelism, WD makes no claim as to precisely when the great dispersion took place; faced with evidence of distinct languages reaching back for several thousands of years, the proponents of WD simply say that, well, the dispersion must have occurred prior to that.

The running away grinning Sephiroth slayed me.

Was going to throw that language thing on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes today, unless someone beat me to it.

It's so true, though. You've got RESURRECTION MAGIC that's TRIVIALLY AVAILABLE - not to mention the ability to purchase and carry resurrection items by the *dozens* - and yet you're upset that the slum drunk got stabbed? Pah! That's like getting worried about the dragons when you're wandering around in the flashback with Sephiroth. Oh, no, the Dragon has killed me. Well, Sephi casts Life 2 and I'm fine. Yay! Then I hit the dragon for 7, it counterattacks and kills me again! Life 2! Yay! Then the dragon hits Sephiroth for 0 and then dies.

Yeah, I'm admittedly a big fan of the FF series, but I never quite understood the stupidity behind not being able to just slip Aeris a Phoenix Down and get on with the show. What are they for, again?

It's something that the characters in FF7 say over and over and over again: "There ain't no way off this [plot] train!"

And it's really, really, bogglingly, mindblowingly dumb. Sheesh, if I wanted morons writing hole-filled plots, I'd go rent a Uwe Boll movie or join an average D20 D&D game. I'm really offended when an otherwise worthwhile game does it.
