Massachusetts Department of Health declares that hospitals don't have to provide contraception to rape victims if they don't want to, despite the law that explicitly says they do.

Detroit Catholic sentenced to complete a drug rehab program told that his religion is "witchcraft", and he must become a Pentecostal or they'll fail him outright and he goes to jail.

The religious drug treatment is nothing new. It is actually pretty commen in my town for drug and Dui cases to get pushed into AA, which is religious based. I know someone here that got sent to jail because he refused to "put his life in the hands of a higher power" per AA, and said as much at his meeting. Last I heard his case was still in dispute.

Apparently Governor Romney ruled today that hospitals DO, in fact, have to provide the drugs. This surprised the hell out of everybody because Romney, a Mormon, is courting the right-wing Republicans in preparation for his run for the presidency in 2008.
