The CD I mentioned here?

Burning, right now. Some of the suggestions were really great, some didn't fit the kind of late-70s hard rock vibe I wanted, some of them are enough to make me want to do another version of this allowing more modern stuff, and some I don't have a copy of. Also, a lot of the ones that screamed "gotta have me" are like 7 minutes long, which cuts down on the space to play with.

The final track listing:
1. Alice Cooper - School's Out (since I can't find my CD with Hello, Hooray on it, and apparently I didn't rip it.)
2. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
3. KISS - Detroit Rock City
4. The Eagles - Hotel California (I needed to find SOME way to bring it back down from the pace of the first three)
5. Blue Oyster Cult - Flaming Telepaths (Yay, obscureness points. Also the direct opposite of frozen zombies.[1])
6. Eric Clapton - Layla
7. Bob Seger - Turn the Page
8. Aerosmith - Dream On
9. Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (and here ends the slower section of our programming day...)
10. Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water (Yup. Definitely up to speed)
11. Judas Priest - Turbo Lover
12. AC/DC - Money Talks (a good enough compromise, Jacob? I really don't like the rhythm on Dirty Deeds or TNT, and Thunderstruck is an opening track not a mid-disk one)
13. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
14. Skynyrd - Free Bird (I had to. If I can't heckle live bands to play Skynyrd any more after the White Cowbell Incident, I can at least yell it at my CD player. And I hate Sweet Home Alabama.)

Man. I need a CD player that reads DVDs, just so I can make this same CD again and put more stuff on it.

Good call. The last three songs on that album flow nicely. My favorite is "Astronomy", though.

Specifically, the Others.

They're frozen zombies.

Blue Oyster Cult - Flaming Telepaths

Fuck yeah! I love that song. Actually, I love that whole album. I think I shall listen to it now.

I still say the CD needs "Hair of the Dog," but otherwise it looks awesome!

that's an impressive sounding CD. it would make me stab myself in the eye, but I at least understand it intellectually.

IIRC, this is where it all started.

Ah, I guess I never saw this post, or the other just sticks out in my mind more clearly.

Thanks.

Well, it's not like I had it memorized; I just used google to search for the earliest reference. Google is my friend!

Turbo Lover? hahaha!!!

excuse me...

HAHBWAHAHA!!!!!

sorry.... heh

I couldn't think of the song at the time, but my favorite Judas Priest "ride music" is Riding on the Wind. It's track 2 (or 3) on Screaming for Vengence (right after Electric Eye).

Got something against that song?

Halford is God. Flaming, leather-clad, motorcycle-riding rampant-buttsex-in-the-back-of-the-van God, but God.

I guess it's because i love Priest and that song for soem reason is just a song that i am embarrassed to admit i like... it's almost verging on "Rock Gods turn 80's Hair Band." Not that i hate 80's hair bands, but for soem reason it gets me...
