Photography through a tilt-shift lens - creating an effect that looks like pictures of a hyper-detailed model, not the real thing.

Georgetown law students snub Alberto Gonzales.
"When you're a law student, they tell you if say that if you can't argue the law, argue the facts. They also tell you if you can't argue the facts, argue the law. If you can't argue either, apparently, the solution is to go on a public relations offensive and make it a political issue... to say over and over again "it's lawful", and to think that the American people will somehow come to believe this if we say it often enough.

In light of this, I'm proud of the very civil civil disobedience that was shown here today."

There needs to be a webcam on that last one so we can all watch people try to walk into the scene.

The trompe l'oeil is very cool.

The screaming face in the tree beats it out, though. New background.

(Go civil civil disobedience.)

I especially like the guy with his back to us, leaning into the scene. Brilliant.

Those citiy photos are fascinating. I think it hints at something about human psychology that they look "fake" to us.

It's not psychological in the way you'd normally think of it. The lens effect breaks the normal rules of perspective, and it looks oddly like what photos of models on that scale tend to look like. If you didn't have that context, I have no idea what context your brain would try and put those pictures in. That would be an interesting experiment. Someone find me an isolated backwater tribe from some third world shithole (Oklahoma might be able to provide a sample) and let's put 'em to the question!
