Using the accounting practices that companies are required to use, the US deficit last year: $760 Billion.

Treasury reported: $319 Billion.

At the same time, they noted that for the ninth straight year, government accounting practices are so fucked up and lacking in accountability that they can't reliably tell you where the money went.

Speaking of which,
US Government lawyers argue that the new ban on torture doesn't apply to people in the Guantanamo gulag, and so victims can't bring suit against the government to stop being tortured. Oh, but they don't torture people. At all. Ever.

Speaking of which,
Judges presiding over the military courts trying the War On Terra victims say that they're not willing to exclude evidence gained through torture. They're also allowing hearsay as evidence, and several other breaks from the law of civilised countries. Two words: Spectral Evidence.
