Actually, "I'll tell you what" is indeed a full sentence. It's got a subject, a verb, and even an ambiguously-shaped object thrown in to boot.

I will agree with you, however, that it is a noisome and inane interjectory phrase, I reckon.

Boomhauer says nothing (or very little) that's intelligble. "I'll tell you what" is Hank's expression. And it actually *suits* him, where I think I might explode hearing it from real people.

The other one that really gets me is 'Do what now?' which is common in the Carolinas and points south. I have bucketfuls of hate for that expression.

Unrelated, I absolutely *love* that icon. The penguin likes it.
