You read all the comments? All from various US based people, all saying how outrageous and sickening the whole thing is.

One guy said "Let's focus on reality people and the "real" what if's!"

How can you have a real what if?

Might be worth plugging the TV back in for. Ah, bugger, it's on More4. That means it'll have an audience of about 3.

Saw this too. Putting ideas in people's heads? You think this idea isn't already in million of American's heads? The thing that saves his life is probably the common knowledge that the vice president would be far worse, not to mention use it as a pretext to declare martial law for the rest of the century.

My two favourites (right next to each other, even) are these:

The hopes of six billion people across the world were raised by the first three words of your headline - then dashed by the next four.

Unlike Bush, I don't believe in fairy tales.

Apparently, I said this:
I think this sounds like a fascinating premise upon which to base a docudrama and - if handled sensitively and intelligently, which it seems it will be - this is exactly the type of dynamic and thought provoking television that the UK is known for. There is a strong tradition of "what-if" scenarios in all genres of fiction and people should be able to separate such a conceit from simple polemic. It is not a personal attack, simply a device in which to examine this most controversial of recent presidents.

- Mat, London, UK
Except that's not the way I write. It's similar, but it's really not my pattern of sentence structure, etc.

I think they've edited me up to sound better, so I wonder if they've done similar. Also pretty sure I called Steve out on his blatent stupidity.

Unless there's another Mat spelling his name wrong with almost identical views?
