ABC pulls scheduled broadcast of "Saving Private Ryan" due to recent FCC rulings and fines.

Since affiliates can't afford the fines if the material should be deemed "indecent", which it very well may be if consistency with recent rulings is kept, they are choosing to self-censor.

Good for them. The FCC has been so indiscriminate lately, even basic shows like Shaving Ryan's Privates could net you a hefty fine. That's what the FCC gets -- bad press, which is just what these affiliates are intending to give them.

I remember when Access aired "Schindler's List" and people around here were put off. I told them they were morons.
