I hear that you can dive safely amongst large groups like that. I wouldn't want to find out the hard way (though not all jellyfish sting, as I understand it). I've seen two jellyfish in my 8 years of (albeit somewhat sporadic) diving, and kept a respectful distance in both cases.

This species does sting, but fatalities are infrequent.
