Feb. 24th, 2007 08:03 pmCanada's Interim Placeholder Prime Minister accuses Liberal MP of being a terrorist, accuses every MP from every other party but his of deliberately trying to weaken Canada's anti-terror law to protect him, refuses to apologise and claims not to see how any of this could be called offensive or stupid.
For those of you playing from outside the borders, Canada's anti-terror law is up for renewal. It allows someone to be held for 72 hours without charge in suspected terrorism cases, and requires people with information on terrorism cases to appear and testify. Neither provision has ever been used in the five years they've been part of the law.
Also,
Supreme court unanimously holds that "security certificates" are unconstitutional, indefinite detention is illegal, and that "terrorist" suspects have unequivocable right to speedy and fair trial.
