Two weeks ago I asked about a grocery/recipe/to-do-list tracking app. I got a bunch of suggestions! I tried several! And there's one that I really like.
The ones I didn't use:
#1: I had a ton of suggestions for Our Groceries, which I tried, and while it looks decent? There's a MASSIVE FUCKING AD over the top of it. That flickers. And jumps. And tries to make you click on it by accident. The ad made the product basically unusable, and $5 for the ad-free version wasn't something I was going to spend on spec when I had other options. It looked like it might have met all my needs, except for the ad. The ad was so annoying that I looked for other options.
#2: Several people suggested OneNote/Evernote. That would require OneNote installs for several machines, and a bit of work to set up. I considered it, but found a working one with all the effort done in advance.
#3: GroceryGadget looked decent, but the reviews for the Android version were extremely negative. And it, just as the reviews said it would, it crashed without opening.
#4: Several people suggested "excel and google docs". You sick fucks.
The one I decided I like, and you should like too: Wunderlist. Ad-free, decent app interface, decent web interface, handles multiple lists and multiple list entries and notes per entry. Syncs. It can also schedule times and display alarms and stuff, but it doesn't have to. It supports moving items from list to list (like, for example, taking "apples" from "grocery shopping" to "in fridge" - I've started keeping a "perishable crap in my fridge" list so I stop forgetting about things that get shoved by A CERTAIN SOMEONE (cough cough) to the back of the bottom shelves where I can't see them.)
It does everything I want it to, simply, easily, without fuss. What's not to love?
