My complaint from a few days ago about Microsoft fucking up update.microsoft.com such that users of Windows Update were incapable of upgrading to Microsoft Update from the site that installs Microsoft Update?

I found the problem.

update.microsoft.com *doesn't work* in IE 11. At all. It detects that you're using IE 11 and ignores that you might have a REASON to want to go to the site.

Removing IE 11 leaves IE 10, and if you're using IE 10 the site checks and lets you install the upgrade.
