Most likely it will be ported over to Ubuntu as well (since they use Debian for most of their packages), but we should be able to still use Firefox through different repositories.

As in, "I'm glad I have Ubuntu so I get to have Iceweasel, the Firefox fork with a logo of a rodent screwing the world"?

It already runs on OSX and Ubuntu, out of the box.

Have I ever told you the story of Nicky "The Ice Weasel" Garibaldi?

Any relation to Michael "The Bruce Willis" Garibaldi?

Ah, I misunderstood. I don't want to be restricted from "propriatary extentions" myself.

Talkback crash reporting, I always disabled anyway.

(And there's nothing stopping you from running whatever extensions you want, as far as I can tell)

Ah, ok, the wikipedia entry you linked to suggested otherwise.

Any problems with running both firefox and iceweasel at the same time?

I can't see any, though it may be tricky running them alongside one another (shared libraries may cause issues, but I doubt it. it's probably optimized for shared useage already since linux is a multi-user system by default).

I don't see why there would be. They're separate programs from separate packages, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Of course, Firefox isn't exactly easy on the resources, meaning you might wind up really bogging down your system if you've got two full instances running at once.

Btw, where did you get iceweasel from? I can't find it with apt-cache search (actualy, I use wajig, but same idea).

I haven't loaded it myself, being at work and not wanting to install it on the Ubuntu or Debian servers here.

Ah, ok. I think I'll just wait until it's in the package tool. I just basicly would find it occasionaly handy to have two seperate browsers running at once (mainly so I can be logged in with two accounts at the same site), but any other browsers besides firefox bug me.

Except: weasels aren't rodents.

Of course, a weasel screwing the world is even better...

No, they aren't. Weasels are Mammalia Carnivora Mustelidae. Rodents are Mammalia Rodentia.

It's easy to confuse. I had to ask Wikipedia to be sure.
