Damn it, the file has a bit of metadata encoded in it on my computer at least, that means that it is showing up as a jpeg, no matter what the extention, and thus my archive program refuses to open it.
The mouse that comes in the box is a single button one. Ctrl-click is the right-click for Macs. It's generally assumed that Mac users don't need to operate their machine one-handed, for some reason.
(Me, I use a trackball or a pen-tablet. The mouse is a shit invention, in my view.)
Do you know of any decent trackballs for the Mac? I agree on prefering them to mice, partly because I find them easier to use, and partly because I keep a cluttered desk and that's not a problem with the trackball.
However, the old spare trackball I nabbed from my parents doesn't work with my mac, and I've never gotten around to searching out a good trackball for it. I currently use one of these on my PC and quite like it.
I've never had a trouble plugging any standard USB HID into a Mac. I used to like the Kensington ones, but lately I use a trackpad, a no-brand thing I picked up for cheap at Maplin.

And yes, the file is odd. It's a JPEG that's way, way bigger than it should be, with a 5MB PDF compressed inside it.

Click OK.
Now, you'll see the file as lovercraft.jpg. Right-click -> rename, change ".jpg" to ".rar".
