WASHINGTON - It may have taken an overloaded small e-mail service provider in Washington state to trigger what turns out to be the nation's first legal case - four defendants, all in the Detroit area - under the new and still controversial CAN-SPAM Act.

Of course, the article is written for AVN, meaning that they don't actually realise that CAN-SPAM is completely toothless and, indeed, enshrines in law the *right* of the real problem spammers to spam, but apparently it's being used to squash the small stupid ones.
It's a start.
