That aside (and really, what can be said, other than incoherent sputtering?):

Anyone else find it amusing that Bush has a chief spokesman named Snow?

Good thing were not in some kind of war where undercover cover agents would be valuable to the existence of our country. Oh, snap....

"I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person, and I've often thought about what would have happened had that person come forth and said, 'I did it.' Would we have had this, you know, endless hours of investigation and a lot of money being spent on this matter?" -- President Bush, July 13, 2007.

Politicians hedge their words. This is as close as we'll ever get to this one. That said, you're right. Bush has never admitted to outing Valerie Plame. He has admitted that his staff did.

This also doesn't admit to the political reasons, from what I can tell. And yes, you're almost surely right about this being the most we're gonna get.

Well...why would he? It's a statement against interest being told to 240 million people. They're definitely going to shed as positive a light on things as possible, heh. And disclosing that "yeah, this was totally vindictive because we felt Wilson was screwing us" is probably a little too much honesty for national television.
