I am not sure this would have been humiliating everywhere. But just in case, it would surely have been wiser to not shout it to the whole bus, but just stop the bus, quietly walk up to her and whisper it in her ear.
Provided he could still walk at the time, of course.

One the one hand - idiot!

On the other hand, I'm not a pig and yet I've had a few moments in my life where my brain froze up upons seeing the sexy. Walked into a light pole, fallen off a bike and, once when the girlfriend yawned in a tight shirt, nearly sent my car off the road.
