Given that the guy broke into the house initially and dog didn't do anything, it kind of puts the lie to the idea that pit bulls are naturally vicious.
One of the women I train with has a pit bull. She has to tie him up while we're working out, not because he's vicious but because he's so friendly that he'll try to play with us, and there are few things that will distract you from proper technique like 100 pounds of excited dog skidding all over the room.
So he'll lie there with that morose look that dogs get when they want you to feel sorry for them, an expression that just looks odd on a pit bull.
(Sporfle..!) Yeah- the one that says, " Siiiiiiiiiggghhh... I'll just LIE here, then... why doesn't anyone wanna play? I wanna PLAY... I'm so unloved and lonely...."
All the while you're thinking 'Riiiiiiight, Furball.'
Knew a large (Larger than average, anyway...) Rottie who would do that too, scared the bejeezeus out of folks cause "Jaws" would come ripping around the corner as you drove up to the house.. not to attack, unless you call getting slobbered and slurped on as he tried to jump into your arms- being attacked.
