Plaxo.com: Spamming scum.

Not only do they send unsolicited bulk commercial email, faking "oh you should join" messages from people who don't exist, but they ALSO insist that you personally visit their site, view their ads, put in your email address *and* click-through a "confirm that my email address is live so that it's more valuable to us when we sell it to other spammers in the future" link.

Fuck that. UCE is spam. Anything that wants you to opt-out is spam. Demanding confirmation of an email address in response to UCE while asking to opt-out? SPAM.

Plaxo.com are spammers. If you use plaxo for any reason, you are an idiot and you deserve to be punched in the lung.

Never heard of them until now. Apparently, they haven't sent enough spam.

Apparently they've been getting "Gee, you're spammers" complaints since 2003.

i always put disposible addresses in the unsubscribe fields that demand an address, and once it led to spam. but mostly it's just a bad model, not SPAM. i wanter what TrustE thinks about it. once i complained to them about net-temps.com. if you designated your email as private on net-temps, it ignored your setting. and it was obvious all the harvesters knew this. they were so thick-headed about my complaint but TrustE set them straight.

"unsubscribe" requests are ALWAYS harvested. There is no such thing as an honest spammer, and using an opt-out model means you're a spammer. Since you're a spammer, you're therefore dishonest, and therefore you cannot be trusted with the knowledge that my address is legit.

The only acceptable response to spam is the removal of the spammer from the internet.

Lung punching. A punch in the lung.

Spammers deserve more. People who support spammers deserve a punch in the lung.
