Susannah Breslin's Letters From Johns is fascinating - a series of letters written by the patrons of prostitutes.

Some of them are interesting. Some of them reveal *far* more about the misogynist Nice Guy(tm) writing it than he probably wants you to know. And some are just kind of blah - but it's fascinating to watch, anyway.

I find myself saying too much or confusing women by saying things that they cannot understand or are too deep, for the amount of Vodka-Red Bulls that they have consumed.

He's not a *total* NG. I mean, the admitting that he's creeping them out somehow, rather than that they're too busy running for abusive assholes--that's not bad.

Guys like that make my teeth itch.

There are plenty of men who recognize that they're not exactly on the "most eligible" list without making it some sort of point of contention. I suspect however in this case his realization is just another excuse for him to say

"No really, I have insight, I'm not like those other guys and that's why you should go out with me, because deep down I'm Really Nice (...bitch)".
