An alarm clock that donates YOUR money to people YOU hate every time you hit "Snooze".

My feelings are mixed: While it's certainly going to discourage you from snoozing, it's also to going to support (as in the example) really fucking repugnant people who will use the money to make your life and that of those around you an insufferable living hell when you *do* hit snooze.

I wonder if simply having it donate money to people you like, and relying on your love of having your money, would be enough.

EDIT: Apparently it's from their April 2007 catalogue. Specifically, their April 1 2007 catalogue. So that's less fun.

I greatly prefer my solution: disable the snooze button. Sure, it takes a certain amount of technical skill to take a alarm clock apart and put it back together with just a single peice disabled, but it's so much more effective. The off button is usually much smaller and harder to find so I have to actually wake up at the time I set the alarm for.

In my case, nope. Having the sucker donate to a cause I like would make the "just five more minutes" easier, not harder, to justify.

I suspect that's not far from the general case, given the office chatter at work.

The snooze button is the first feature they add.

So if you want features like multiple alarms, a radio, or anything like that, you've got to get one with a snooze button, too.

Evidently I don't replace my shit often enough. I have an ancient (analogue) alarm clock with no snooze. I just assumed it was optional.

In addition to what theweaelking pointed out, which is quite true in my experience, there's also a second reason. The only clocks I've seen without snooze buttons have had big, easy to find off buttons. Whereas on the other clocks, the snooze button takes up the large spot and the off button is located such that I can't find it while still sufficiently zombie-like to go back to sleep.

No. I usually set my alarm until the last possible second I can so that I can have long uninterrupted sleep and then know I have to get up. Ten more minutes doesn't do anything for you anyway.

I wake up slowly. 10 minutes of dozing and scratching the cat without having to move is nice - but without the alarm resetting itself, I'll fall back asleep.

Yeah, I'd like to stop snoozing so much, but I don't value the ability to get up enough to risk donating *any* money to the GOP or similar.

This is what using the radio instead of the horrific beeping noise is for.

I look for a morning show that's just annoying enough that I will not fall back asleep to it (easy to find) but not so annoying that I can't stand to listen to it for ten minutes (that's the hard part). And then put the clock across the room, where I have to get up out of bed to turn it off.
