Atheists should be fighting to keep guns out of schools because, as we all know, guns are the responsibility of atheists! Their inaction on the now mandatory "Bring Your Gat to School" bill is what led to so many of our children being armed to the teeth in educational facilities across the country!
Gah! Even saying that in jest caused me to throw up a little.
Whats more disturbing is the bogus warrant and made up story the police used to get in the place to begin with, where is the alledged 16 yr old victim ? She doesn't exhist . The police must be held to a higher standard. All I've heard is nothing but allegations. No pregnant 13 or 16 yr old girls as the news media reported
No, I think the stories of this Mormon group, from members and ex-members, are still more disturbing than their current inability to find a minor, in the cult, who the cult now considers a traitor.
I suspect it's "R"LDS because this bunch are "REAL" Mormons, given that they hold much more closely to the holy books and the teachings of the original prophets than the Salt Lake City ones.
Of course, the SLC Mormons came up with an idea that each church leader in turn was a new prophet on the level of the original, and so each one can change the church around to match whatever makes them most attractive to new members who have money to contribute God has changed his mind to, this week.
Because, you see, in 1978 God decided that the previous four thousand years of scriptural history were wrong, and black people *weren't* only black because they hadn't repented their sin and been made white again, which was official Mormon doctrine and supported by the Bible stories of Ham and several others, before then. For example. Apparently God changes His mind about what He wants pretty regularly, just for the Mormons.
And let us not forget that God has commanded them to not drink caffeine, but yea verily, they must purchase stock in Coca-Cola so as to be able to one day enslave all us non-mormons to the xanthine alkaloid dimethyl rings of the DEVIL!
If you can come up with a method whereby police can tell a genuine 9-1-1 call reporting massive institutionalised child rape from a bogus 9-1-1 call reporting massive institutionalised child rape, please step to the front of the Nobel Prize Committee's Interview Line.

...I was agreeing with you, but trickling through the back of my brain are horrible thoughts about exactly how disturbing it might be that they cannot actually find the minor that the cult has reason to consider a traitor.
Am hoping this is merely my morbidity, and that even if they don't identify the particular minor in question they can at least establish that all children involved are present and accounted for.

Ah, yes. See, when the police get a 911 call about children being raped, what they're supposed to do is know in advance, before checking, if it's a fake call. Then they only need to get warrants for the ones that they mystically somehow know, without evidence, are Really and For True.
Do you really think that *that's* a reasonably high standard to hold the police to?
> All I've heard is nothing but allegations. No pregnant 13 or 16 > yr old girls as the news media reported
*sings out* Ref-er-ence!
Link to the story that claims there's a pregnant child, please? And basis for the assertion that the story in question is false?
Oh, Christ glommed onto the Jewish myths, then took Mithras, scratched out the name, grabbed a sharpie, and wrote in "JC4EVER!", and went on to dictate new and contradictory rules, just as Muhammed and Smith grabbed onto Christ and did the same. No argument there.
But the LDS have something unique, I think, in that God is apparently *continually* speaking to the head of the Church and providing new divine commandments that completely contradict previous teachings, and we're not just talking about things like "Okay, the pig population has recovered, you can eat pork again. What? No, of COURSE it was a conservation concern all along!", we're talking "Gee, y'know the story of the Children of Ham, and of Laman and Lemuel? Not only is that different *now*, but all the *previous* jokers who I was speaking to directly on the matter and who said they were following my explicit instructions? They were wrong, too. Whoopsy!"
PS: If you suspect I'm being mean of out normal proportion to the Latter Days Saints, it's mostly because they've been in the news lately. Go back to when the Catholics elected the Nazi as Pope, and I was plenty mean to them, too, for a few weeks.
Just as Moses presented "Thou shalt not kill" then sent the hebrew children into the land of Canaan to smite the natives. I'm just saying this isn't a new concept.
Doesn't the Pope do that all the time? Claiming that God is continually speaking to/through him, and changing stuff his predecessors set out. The Deadly Sins v2.0, stillborn babies not going to purgatory, et cetera.
Also the last Pope dabbled in the whole paedophillia thing, by ordering that priests caught fiddling with children should be quietly and discreetly moved on to another parish. I remember the Guardian did an article on it, though it was a few years back now.

Yes.
Were the police acting in good faith?
Yes.
That makes the warrant justified.
