And that's a real skull.

The cameras he's made with HIV-positive blood and the heart of a human infant are also really cool, too.

That is astounding.

Don't be so sensationalistic.

The infant died of natural causes.

... I never said it didn't. I didn't even imply it didn't.

He didn't imply the artist killed the skull's owner either, nor the blood doner. He just noted the materials used...

He probably didn't deliberately infect the individual whose HIV-positive blood is in that camera, either.

(I mean, honestly, I pretty much took it that way. But then I like Morbid Curiosities, and always end up a little sad that she's no longer making earrings of emeralds and human fingerbones.)

What are you on, and can I have some? Where did he say that it didn't?

Although to be fair, I read that sentance and the first thing I think of is a camera made with HIV-positive blood *and* an infant's heart, when actually they're in two different installations.

Ah! The power of awkward phrasing... now the real question is, why didn't I make the same mistake? 'cause that's totally the kind of misreading I would do.

The use of the plural "cameras" tells you there's more than one camera, and then there are only two items in the list that follows.

That's why the sentence doesn't imply "both human heart and HIV blood used in one single camera"

And really, in the end, would an HIV-infected infant's heart be THAT much more sensationalistic than two cameras, one HIV-infected and the other with an infant's heart?

No, not really.

Just as a note, since it wasn't mentioned... that skull is also from a fairly young child, though not an infant...

and... COOL!

I myself would much prefer a camera with the heart of a freshly slain baby (to the standard of the ancient Mayans, of course), not a day removed from its mother's womb. Anything less simply wouldn't suffice.
