I'm really about this close to curling up into a fetal position and screaming "I'm in my happy place! I'm in my happy place!"

I'm a Bitter Atheist, but I'm a relatively quiet one. What I see happening in this country right now is ... a repeat of events shortly after WWII. And not a pretty sight.

You know, maybe we should work with the republicans on building that wall between Canada and the US.

Don't you mean before?

Don't forget to stop at your local DHS office to pick up your pink triangle armband, OR YOU WILL BE SHOT.

Actually, no. A lot of frightened people point at Hitler, but I don't go there. I think that it's actually a new burgeoning age of McCarthyism and a third Red Scare, only with a different target this time.

Hawks were searching for quite some time for a new enemy (it was going to be China for a while), and Osama bin Laden provided it for them with a red-ribboned box. Now I'm hearing things like "appeasers" and seeing jingoism again and it's all very historical, except that it's current, and that really sucks.

Fences make good neighbors, you know.

Or at least help keep the neighbours away when they start getting to scary.

Mind you, it would make my plan for what Canada could do if we get invaded by the US, but I'm still not scared to the point where I actualy think that will happen, yet.
