I appreciate her taking the responsiblity of saying that she is not ready for a child, but if she was really serious about it, i feel that preventative measures would be a more mature, responsible and conscienous decision on her part. she is an adult.

I imagine she's having abortions because she is really serious about not having a child. From what I've heard, abortions aren't fun. Nobody gets their uterus scraped out because they have nothing better to do.

I don't know about the personal circumstances of your friend, of course, but I do know that birth control is expensive, prohibitively so, for many women. I also know that many women have adverse reactions to birth control, and not all women can afford multiple visits to the doctor, public health clinic, or planned parenthood to get the prescription that may or may not work best for them. I also know that for many women, condoms are the only way they can take responsibility for their sexual health, and, unfortunately, condoms break.

What I'm saying is that I don't agree with your automatic equation of multiple abortions with irresponsibility, especially when there are so many other factors affecting women's reproductive freedoms.
