You don't want to pierce tattooed skin for spinal or epidural anesthesia, because tattoo paint is (probably) not a good thing to have in close contact with your nerves or cerebrospinal fluid. "Tramp stamps" can usually be worked around, by either going higher or lower than usual, going in laterally or by shifting the tattoo to the side, so you get a paint free needle canal, but something like that? No way. That person would need general anesthesia, if it's not possible to do the procedure under local anesthesia.

Yeah.. Well.. Kinda. I mean tattoo'ed people ain't at over 50% of the population yet, y'know. Least not in US-land.

Anyway, non-inked skin to me just looks like a canvas. I mean, basically everyone's drawn/doodled on themselves, even if just back in school when you weren't paying attention in class, right? It just seems obvious.
