"Vampires Were People Too!"

Interesting site. The "HBO is a proud sponsor" tells me this is a viral marketing site for a new TV show, but that very fact intrigues me.

It's probably for True Blood, their show based on Charlene Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books.

Yep, right there in the page source: "The official site of the American Vampire League from HBO's True Blood series, featuring information about the AVL and why you should support vampire rights."

Well, since that's one of the better vampire series out (my opinion; ymmv), I hope they treat it well. HBO has a much better track record than, say, Fox, so there's a chance it won't fellate trolls...

I also just saw an ad where all these people are talking about "they" and how no one wants "them" moving into the neighborhood, etc., making it sound like garden-variety racism, and then at the end there's a title card for a Vampire Equality lobbyist group.

It's been a while since I saw a TV show go for the viral marketing quite this hardcore.
