Fucking weird. I didn't default on my first computer with them. Years later, I wanted to get a new computer, but noooo... they won't offer me financing.
I had enough money saved to outright buy it, which almost certainly saved me money in the long run, but I'd rather have financed it.
There's a guy living in Golden Gate Park(San Francisco) that has a full-time consulting gig doing coding and such. He gets by on wifi, weekly showers in dive hotels and camps out in the park.
Yeah, that's why I always get the offers for no interest until XXXX date, and then have it paid off before then. They can give me a 28.99% interest rate, but they'll never see a penny of it. :)
I've always figured that if need be, I could live out of my vehicle, park near wifi spots for internet, and get a cheap 24 hour gym membership for all my showering needs. Not the most comfortable arrangement, but possible.
As odd as it seems, perhaps he's one of those recently kicked out to homelessness b/c of the mortgage crisis. So all he has is what he could carry in a cart. Add a few weeks for beard growth and a lack of showering.. and there you have it.
