I'm not sure I could get away with attacking my players with one of those. They'd take it about as seriously as that horde of evil squirrels.
On the other hand, I can probably say "And an annoying creature wakes you up at 5AM with its 'song' that sounds sounds like your roommate Frank, barfing. It looks like this."
And then my players will behead it, mutter, and send their PCs back to bed.
