...saying that historical evidence is hugely against 6 million Jews having been deliberately gassed.

So he's saying they were accidentally gassed?

Yes, obviously, they were sassed to death by a very sarcastic and biting German Army.

*facepalm*

And his Popeness wonders why attendance is going down....

Bah. Jewish people chose their own religion over ours, so we don't care about them. Convert or get the hell out!

Man, I really want to build on this, because the idea of a sassy SS is just too good to pass up, but everything I come up with is canned immediately on the grounds that "the Holocaust is still, after 60 years, Not Funny."

Damn you, Adolph!!!

Also, what happened to papal infallibility?

The pope is only infallible when speaking ex cathedra, in the process of defining church doctrine and matters of the faith.

The last time it was done was 1950. Before that, 1854. Before that, Wikipedia has a bunch of them.

Oh, you went and looked up papal infallibility on wikipedia too, huh?

I loved following some of the links and various tangents. The posthumous trial of Pope Formosus (aka the Cadaver Synod) is an amusing read.

Yup. I knew that the official doctrine of infallibility was a recent invention, and that it was very rarely used, but I ask good old Wikipedia Pete for the details on dates and times because he cares more about it than I do.

I am bemused by Pope Palpatine...

I've finally come to the conclusion that he's actually a strong anti-catholic deep cover mole who is now doing his level best to severely damage the CAtholic church.

I've been asking that question myself, but it's also plausible that this is par for the course with Popes and we were just spoiled rotten by John Paul II's attempts to serve the entire world instead of just the 15% that directly answer to him.
