[livejournal.com profile] fail_dogs. It's like failblog, but has learned that stamping "FAIL" on the image makes the picture suck.

If all the dogs on faildogs.com WERE ACTUALLY FAILING, then maybe it would be okay. But some of them are clearly just... being dogs. Faildogs fails.

The purpose of blogs is to be entertaining.

Failblog *fucks up* the entertaining factor by stamping FAIL on pictures that would otherwise potentially be funny.

Failblog sucks. It doesn't matter what an "imitator" blog is called - as long as they don't make the same mistake the failblog morons do, it's possibly good.

And Faildog is hilarious.

I'd argue that some pictures are improved by the addition of the word 'fail' (this one (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7FAsUT6FePU/SOvKYY6VKKI/AAAAAAAAALk/8ibAgHYtBNw/s400/fail21.bmp) has always tickled my fancy) otherwise I never thought much about it, really. Stamping 'fail' on a photo doesn't make it less funny, to me at least.

Faildogs has photos that could more appropriately be on ihasahotdog.com (or have already been on there)... it's just derivative and meh.

Er, btw, I've been going backwards in faildogs, when you get to around page 14, everything says "FAIL" in big white lettering. It's pretty annoying, indeed.

I don't like it that they include things that aren't dog, however.

It's just that they don't trust their readers to understand that the pictures they're posting have fail in them unless they stamp FAIL on them, in addition to the failblog logo.

When you put it like that, the logo does kind of make the stamp redundant. Maybe they think it's some kind of visual treatment now? It's their unique (hah!) "look" which people are used to? Either way I see your point.

I know, they started that way, but they've *stopped doing it*

Oh my god, yes! Doesn't it just? So many of those I would find much more amusing if they DIDN'T have "fail" on them.

Or maybe they're just stupid.
