"Vapositori"?! Jeeez it sounds like some insect part.
"And now, the male spider will use his vapositori to inseminate the female, before she eats him as a post copulation snack..."

Yeah, that'll teach those stupid kids to have religious anti-vaxxer parents.

They're spreading more than measles. Because they have polygamy, child marriage, use prostitutes and take drugs, don't believe in condoms, don't believe in Western medicine, and travel around a lot (they're traders), they are also a vector for HIV and tuberculosis. And there are a lot of them.
Africa unfortunately is plagued by religious sects of one sort or another. Most of the sects are Xtian fundy-types imported from America, but this lot seem to be a homegrown hybrid of New Age and native polytheism. However they're no different from the Xtians, in their opposition to anything perceived as 'Western', especially medicine and science.

This. It sounds like a particular unpleasant tool a doctor would use for... intimate examinations

Y'know, there's blunt, hard realism, and then there's sociopathy.

Guess which end of the spectrum YOU fit.

The polygamy in itself is probably not the problem, but the way that they practice. As in, not safe sex, child brides, and those other things you listed.

true. Though given the odds that those kids would grow up to be ust like their parents, I'm not sure that I think it's bad logic, initially.

Wow - you just earned a ton of respect from me. Given that you don't know me and we'll probably never meet, I know how much that (doesn't) mean, but that response and ownership was fantastic.

The one comment on that link so far says "Natural Selection". There's something a bit sick about that comment really.

NO, no you heathen, it's the flying spaghetti monster of course, and the real true way is by twirling your spaghetti anti-clockwise (clockwise in the southern hemisphere) around your fork *without* the use of a spoon.

Deep down inside everyone knows this to be true but many are in denial of this self-evident truth and call it a lifestyle choice.
