Isn't Kansas the state that outlawed teaching evolutionary theory?

That was Tennessee, in the 1920s. The latest round hasn't been "outlawing" evolutionary theory, it's been requiring "parity" between the teaching of evolutionary theory and the teaching of "intelligent design" theory (which was begun after the Supreme Court found the requirement of the teaching of creationism theory unconstitutional). The latest case on the matter found the requirement of the teaching of intelligent design unconstitutional, too.

I think this was a misnomer -- not "outlawed" but "banned".

Kansas Flap. They removed it altogether from the books. Or tried to, anyway.

I particularly like that the Missouri law proposes a double whammy of 1) child labour is legal, and 2) it's easier to pretend that you're not actually employing children (and therefore don't have to pay them).

The sheer level of chutzpah is quite outstanding.

Yep, misnomer. Banned/outlawed/verboten whatever.
