The Revolution That Wasn't There:
Apr. 18th, 2011 01:50 amFake blogs describe fake revolution that isn't happening, in China. Chinese citizens know nothing about it, because of The Great Firewall. Chinese SECURITY AGENCIES, on the other hand, have full access and are totally cracking down on the acts the fake blogs are telling people to engage in "as protest" - normal behaviour, by normal people, in their normal lives.
I find this hilarious in one respect, and in most others I shudder. This isn't tricking the Chinese security agencies into imprisoning Chinese spammers, this is *real* people being arrested by a Chinese security department desperate to make stats and who is not allowed to admit idiocy, for doing the exact kind of harmless things they were going to do anyway, without them having ANY way to know that their normal Sunday afternoon mall-shopping has now been declared a subversive act.
