It is important to remember that everything bad that happens to anyone in Westeros is Sansa's fault. directly.

Like, if the White Walkers show up to say "We are only here because we hate Sansa" that is TOTALLY within the bounds of expectation, I am just saying.

True.

And every time someone major complains about the book being late, GRRM kills another Stark.

Littlefinger is the real cause of everything bad that happens. He's a monster, Sansa's just a dumb kid.

Ah so that explains the delays. It's a combination of people trying to get him to kill the right Stark, and the time it takes him to come up with more Starks to kill off.

Sansa is totally being set up to learn all the secrets of the game of thrones and take Littlefinger down, if you ask me. Her development is actually one of my favorites in the current books.

Her plotline has become interesting lately. I really disliked her for the first couple books, though.

And yet it is NEVER SANSA.

Littlefinger is malicious and without him things would go better - but without SANSA, his plans would have fallen flat *very* early on and never recovered.

Sansa is an airhead who cannot imagine consequences and assumes that everything will turn out the way she wants it to *regardless* of what she does, or what anyone else is like, or what happened the last three times she tried this. She's like Cersei that way, but unlike the queen, Sansa is also stupid. Dirt-stupid. Plant-stupid. Like, brains of a carrot.

I did too, but now it's Arya who grates on my nerves like a mad thing. "Why don't I just lie to the mysterious rule-1-qualified (http://wiki.lspace.org/wiki/Rule_One) little old guy who seems to know everything? Nothing bad will come of that!" The reversal is just really neat. :3

In conclusion, everything needs more Bran Stark & co.

He's saving that one for the very end.

I mean, she has to bring down the Wall by blowing the horn in a fit of pique, thus starting the final battle, right?

I would be unsurprised.

(Now I'm thinking "SANSA.... IS... JERICHO!" and that's Just Not Right.)

Actually, Cersei is pretty darn stupid as well. Especially in book 4. Whatever Sansa had might be catching.

Cersei cannot imagine consequences and assumes that everything will turn out the way she wants it to *regardless* of what she does, or what anyone else is like, or what happened the last three times she tried it.

But Cersei *starts* from a point much closer to "not-stupid", and doesn't inherently reject thoughts for being non-stupid. Cersei is, given sufficient reinforcement, capable of rejecting stupid behaviour.

Whereas Sansa starts stupid, remains stupid, and never, ever, EVER approaches not-stupid at any time, no matter the provocation.

Cersei is GladOS. Sansa is Wheatley.

If nothing else, Cersei had Tyrion who, while still verbally flaying her, would have been much worse to have around if she was Sansa levels of stupid.

I have no idea what y'all are talking about other than it's Game of Thrones. I've only seen the HBO show... [twitch] and there was incest [twitch] IN THE FIRST [twitch] FUCKING EPISODE. [twitch]

Sansa is Sean Bean's oldest daughter. She's the one drooling over the incestuous sociopath's son. She has the brains of a carrot and if she had been drowned at birth by a prescient midwife *everything would have turned out fine*.

I haven't watched last night's ep yet, but I'm betting: Travelling along the Kingsroad? Lying about what The Handsome Plinth did?

Yep. After essentially watching Jeofrey torture the Cook's Boy, and then get beaten by a girl + wolf, she conveniently forgets, didn't see anything, can't remember poop.

I had forgotten just how much I loathed Sansa. I have to admit the actress is doing a perfect job with the character, because I hate the character on screen just as much as I hated the character in the books. Unfortunately, given how that particular character manages to keep breathing... it might impair my enjoyment of the show.

The one problem I have with it, is that because we don't get the internal POV, I don't think they're really communicating well just how simpering and feckless Sansa is, and why that leads her to screw everything up.

Though Jaime might have objected if Tyrion started smacking the stupid out of Cersei.
