I have just slightly too little patience to be a good gardener. I will weed and water and take care of things, I will watch them and wait for them to grow, but it's never until I give them up completely as a lost cause that anything every pops it's stupid head above the dirt.

It's possible plants just hate me.

Oh no, that's normal! I once decided a sapling was dead, well and truly dead, uprooted it, replaced it...and found it leafing out furiously on the brush pile two weeks later. Dug it a hole in an agony of guilt and now it's a very happy little tree.

Not including that one, I gave up on...five plants this year? Three came back gangbusters, and I think I accidentally weeded the fourth.
