American Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist spent the 1970s "adopting" cats from animal shelters and killing them.

He also apparently plays baseball by some fucked up rules:

I did an experiment on some mice I bought at the pet store once. But then, they didn't die, I just doped 'em with hormones for a few days and then gave them to a high school classroom as pets. As they were originally intended as feeder mice, I figure they ended up better off in the long run for having done their bit for science.

Vivisecting cats is another thing entirely, though.
