Your challenge, whether you accept it or not, is to find the 13-or-so MOST PERFECT songs to accompany "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on a playlist.

(For bonus marks, find me the MOST PERFECT songs to accompany the Cradle Of Filth cover of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on a similar but unrelated playlist)

Dammitall -- YouTube won't let me watch the video because of country restrictions.

Were you linking to this? (the notes say that it's a studio version from the "Radio 1 Legends Session" Version), or are you talking about the album version from "Number of the Beast"?

The only thing that goes on the playlist with the Cradle cover is more Cradle, I think. I like Cradle, but I don't particularly think anything else really goes with them.

On a related note, isn't there already a 'MOST PERFECT' playlist for "Hallowed Be Thy Name'? It is called 'The Number of the Beast' :D

How odd. The one I thinked was the studio version, though.

Two things:

1. While the album version is rather better than okay, my preferred version will always be the live version. (And by that, I mean the definitive live version, from Live After Death).

2. It's not the playlist you want, but I once started making a playlist of "bell" songs. Along with Hallowed Be Thy Name, there was Hell's Bells, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Black Sabbath, and Aerodynamic (not technically metal, but the nearest Daft Punk has ever got to it). That was about as far as I got, although I was definitely going to include Excalibur (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpF8M8KMqfA) as a bonus track...
