Borderlands and all DLC, $7.50 Four-pack for $23.

One of the best video games in years, it's like a hilariously twisted FPS version of Diablo. Workable single-player, really shines in multiplayer co-op.

Unless you hate shooters *completely*, for this price? Get a copy.

Played the first few bits with a friend co-op on her 360. I wasn't really impressed. Unless the Sniper is a particularly awful class? I dunno. I just got a very 'meh' impression of the whole thing. I am a fan of shooters/shooter-RPGs.

Just a case of ymmv, I guess?

Just out of curiosity - over the years, how many posts have you made just to say, "Borderlands on sale - buy it FFS!"

Needs friends. This game with friends is *much* better than this game solo.

Also don't forget THIS if you do buy it.

Borderlands Config Tweaker, so you can fix your FOV, and various other bits and pieces so that the game is suited to playing on a PC, not a console.

I love Borderlands, but my internet has DC issues and that wreaks havoc with the battle.net interface. Suck. Love the game though, and don't regret buying. Just wish I could play with people more!

Oh excellent. I will take a look. (It bugs me a lot less than other originally-console games, but hey, better can always be better...)

Sniper isn't a terrible class, but all the classes are pretty similar in the early game. Thing is, it will differentiate *fast* - like, 20 minutes of gameplay later, you're L8 and have started to collect enough stuff to get a real style difference in what you're doing.

And, really, it SHINES multiplayer. It's a co-op game. Unlike L4D or Payday, it's playable single-player, but it's AWESOME multiplayer.

With two people. Four is way more better!

And if four sucks for you, try eight! and if eight is meh, try 16!

That would be awesome, but the game caps out at 4.

Well, that doesn't work for my "try exponentially more until it's AWESOME" routine.

They just need a patch to turn off the "75% of most awesome guns are pistols, none are assault rifles" problem. Every time I played it, soldiers were always desperate for decent assault rifles.

Let us define an AR, the mean amount of time it takes to find one decent assault rifle in borderlands. In the span of one AR:
-the pistol user will sell 10-12 awesome-but-not-as-good-as-the-pistol-I've-got-now pistols.
-8 or so similarly excellent shotguns will be pawned.
-six each of SMG's, rocket launchers and sniper rifles of comparable quality will be gotten ride of.

In all this time, the soldier will be struggling along with the assault rifle that was pretty slick five levels ago but now takes a back seat to the pistols. "Don't use the assault rifle" is a good in-game solution, but does nothing to obviate the broken game mechanic.

Solution #1: Pay a trivial amount of cash and retool your soldier to focus on other guns. RPGs, sentry guns, perks that work for anything....

Solution #2: Go kill Ajax a few times, because he ALWAYS drops a high-quality AR.
