Well, a friend of mine who is well-versed in Mormonism notes: "The SL Tribune is very definitely not a Mormon News-Mormon paper of Mormon record, for whatever it's worth." So there's that.
That's kind of like saying "The Wall Street Journal isn't the only newspaper in New York". Yeah, sure, the New York Post is more in tune with the crazy bigot demographic, no argument - but if the Journal endorsed an Democrat outsider against Giuliani, damn right that's news.
(And, in this case, the Deseret News is the Post, granted: They're the crazy bigot paper for the crazy bigots, but the largest, most influential, most profitable newspaper in Mormon Central Casting just called out Romney for being a bad person, and a bad Mormon.)
