You're trying to use logic on pro-lifers. That doesn't work, as can be amply demonstrated by asking yourself "what would they do if they ACTUALLY believed the shit that comes out of their mouths", which is easily answered with "none of the things they do, and a ton of things they never ever do".
This goes so well with Huckabee deciding the school shooting was because we took prayer out of schools. And by "so well" I mean "I have no faith in humanity any more and would like to be a plant now, please. I'm sure I could be an excellent cactus if given a chance!"
I haven't heard about Huckabee claiming that. Bryan Fischer, yes, but Fischer runs a explicitly violent hate group, and any time anyone takes him seriously it's like interviewing David Duke or Ron Paul or David Lane, except that for some reason he still "speaks" for American Christians At Large without massive backlash.
*nods* Definitely a teaching moment -- but what a SHITTY thing to do to KIDS. You know, the kids these anti-choice nutjobs are so crazy about "saving," but are perfectly happy to traumatize once they're post-birth (and, honestly, this is the least of it -- I can at least respect the internal logic of someone who is anti-choice but has also personally taken in unwanted children, campaigned for universal health coverage, paid their employees a living wage, supported social/subsidized housing and daycare, etc., etc., etc. Until then, I view them as dirty lying hypocrites -- oh, and just because I said that I'd respect their internal logic doesn't mean that I wouldn't violently disagree with them. But they'd at least be less-odious, and perhaps more willing to listen to reason.)
And, you know -- not that it would excuse them trying to turn women into incubators . . . but, again, it would at least disgust me less than the "I DON'T WANT MY TAXES PAYING THEIR WELFARE, BUT OMG, SAVE THE BAAAABIES!" crowd.
I'm reminded of the blog I read from someone who fell out of the Pro Life movement when she realised they were generally dead-set against one of the best ways of reducing abortion - easily available contraception and education on such.
Yeah, he's going out of business because of abortion - he's been fucking around, impregnating women, and they're not keeping his "gifts." And those that do are suing for child support.
