Better than that, Bernalillo county (The most populous and the one in which I live) started issuing gender-neutral licenses yesterday. A lawyer for a couple has asked the NM Supreme Court to create a class action lawsuit in order to fast track a decision at the state level.
The Republicans in the southern part of the state say they're thinking of mounting a legal attack, but so far it hasn't materialized. Most New Mexicans seem to be either all for marriage equality, or determined to mind their own business. "I'm not gay, I ain't gonna get gay-married, so why should I care?"
