Is it just me, or is livejournal refusing the first connection on EVERY ATTEMPT, and accepting the second one? Like, click a link, 404. refresh: good. Click "post comment", page freezes and times out. Refresh page, repeat comment, post: works.

Three clients (including both logged in and logged out), two computers, four internet connections, two days, all the same behaviour for me. Is it happening to anyone else?

No, I'm seeing it too... not necessarily every first connection, but about 50% of all connections get a refused connection or a timeout.

I'm guessing aggressive DDOS protection measures up and running.

Sometimes I find it takes more than two tries. I need to start writing comments in a word processor because if the connection fails, the comment is lost.

Pretty frequently. Though not every time.

The "Lazarus" plugin for firefox used to work to get back lost forms. I don't have it installed right now, though, and I'm wondering when (and why) I removed it.

But yeah: Copy comment to clipboard first, before hitting post, has been a thing.

Echo comment above, right down to the suspicion that it's an anti-DDOS ploy.

Firefox 23 and no javascript: when that happens I press the back button and my comment is still there. I remember how aggravating vanishing comments can be but I haven't had them disappear for quite a while now.

All the time for me. I'm also finding that 9 times out of 10, my comments are being marked as spam -like as I'm posting them. I get a pop-up from LiveJournal that says something about my comment being marked as spam and will until the journal owner changes that. But if the Journal owner isn't notified of it, no one sees my comments to adjust them.

I've been very positive through every change LiveJournal has had in the 10+ years I've been on this site, but I am seriously tired of the crap over the past couple of years.

Not every time, but it's been happening to me far more than usual the last few days (and not, like, connection timeouts - straight-up connection refusals, immediately.)

Yup - and when I open multiple LJ pages at once (by opening a folder full of bookmarks of different filters) the first one fails, the rest all open.

Remember when a glitch like this with LJ would have had people up in arms almost immediately? Now it's "oh, yeah, for the last couple days."

Oh, and when I left _that_ comment it did the whole "reset during connection" thing, and when I hit "Retry" it then timed out, and then gave me a Varnish error.

And then, when I came back five minutes later, did a reset, and then worked.

Just happened for me when I hit your LJ; waiting to see if it'll happen when I comment, too.

ETA: Okay, does not happen with the comment, but it's not like I have a statistically significant sample yet.

I'm on chrome and it's been doing that to me as well. Not sure what the deal is. Though, it's doing it at my home internet, but not my work internet (which is also a home service).
