If God is running the show and you feel that you are one with God's Word, what credence can you be inclined to give someone who is not God damning you to Hell on God's behalf? People are nuts.

One of the central tenets of the LDS church is that of continuous revelation: the current head of the church is a prophet, and God is currently speaking to him and clarifying things and giving new orders. Which two major implications.

#1: He *can* say "God says you're a heretic and not going to one of the good heavens any more" and have it be "true".

#2: Changing his mind changes what God wants. The Mormon church has changed God's "eternal" law more than once, in living memory, due to public pressure, public disgrace, and threats to their tax-exempt status. So attempting to pressure them into coming up with a new "revelation" that "women and LGBT people are really people and should be treated like people" could work, just like pressure caused God to change his mind and declare non-white people to be very nearly people in the 1970s.

That is so very nuts. Oh people of the world, I present to you a mirror. Gaze upon yourselves and despair. *mad chuckle*
