Revising expectations downward, AGAIN.

It's very hard to overestimate the intelligence of American Presidential candidate Ben Carson, and yet *I keep doing it*.

today's problem: He's explained that the pyramids don't make sense as tombs, that would be wasteful. Therefore they are granaries, built by the Biblical prophet Joseph.

Oh, and before you say "that video was in 1998 and he was clearly stoned to the gills, you can't blame him for it!", he repeated the claim yesterday.

What I find amazing about the current GOP race is that when Donald Trump started losing in the national polls, it was, the NYT told me, because he was edged out by Dr Carson. I mean, I expected Trump's fortunes to plummet eventually, because his campaign is a clown-shoes operation and he doesn't grasp either the craft or the issues. And when it starts happening? Because another Komedy Kandidate has outdone him.

I mean, could the GOP maybe rally around one of the real candidates sometime soon? Just for clarity?

The problem is, they don't have any "real" candidates. There's a good reason the debates have been divided into Clown Car and Kids Table each time, so far.

It's so ridiculous. Like ... does he think they're hollow? Has he never bothered to learn what the inside of the pyramids are shaped like? Because, I mean ... there's very little open space, you could store very little grain in them, also they're very decorated with Egyptian funeral iconography and also mummies.

Well, you see, some of the chambers were sealed airtight[1], and that would be good for preserving grain[2], and Joseph preserved enough grain from 7 years of plenty to feed the entire world for 7 years of famine[2].

Therefore this must be where Joseph stored the grain[2]. And the sarcophagi are, like, where the granary guards slept[1].

Given that for some incomperehnsible reason he appears to believe that the going theory among experts is "space aliens", I'd be willing to say he's never bothered to learn a single thing about pyramids.

Seriously, the best they've got is JEB. The least insane/most plausible potential presidential nominee is James Eliis "my brother kept us safe because I rigged his election" Bush.

I thought last time that all the actual real candidates were waiting till Obama was out the way and they'd have a better run, but then I saw this times slate.

At some point, sooner rather than later, the GOP is going to tear itself apart. That will be a good day for international politics.
