Zombies in Cambodia, courtesy of the "BBC"

There has been a small outbreak of "zombism" in a small town near the border of Laos in North-Eastern Cambodia.

The culprit was discovered to be mosquitoes native to that region carrying a new strain of Malaria which thus far has a 100 percent mortality rating killing victims in fewer than 2 days.

After death, this virus is able to restart the heart of it's victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believe to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during "resurrection."
Cambodian officials say that the outbreak has been contained and the public has no need to worry.

It appears to be slashdotted currently. It's a very well-done fake BBC page claiming that zombies are attacking Cambodia.

The numerous typos and stylistic errors, however, are a dead giveaway.

Also, I'd expect WHO or the CDC to be dispatched in cases like these, as opposed to the UN.

I think it grabs the proper "CNN analyst typing too fast" feel that a lot of CNN's "breaking news" articles get. Thing is, it's BBC, and they don't usually let that kind of mistake through.

*smack* Bad fake reporter! Do you have any idea how much you could improve your credibility by replacing that line with "The progress of the disease causes the victims to fall into a comatose state, from which they emerge with brain damage that causes them to behave in extremely violent ways and systemic damage which proves fatal within two hours"?

Or at least claim to be coming from CNN.

Good point, thanks. I've been reading about a bunch of different such agencies in the last while and they're all starting to blur together.
