Appeals court: No, the judge is right, getting a divorce from a guy who is in jail for beating you REALLY ISN'T allowed in Washington State, if you're pregnant, even if the kid isn't his.

The problem with her petition for divorce was that she "wrongfully" changed it to say that she was pregnant when she became pregnant.

They haven't denied her the right to be divorced, just the right to be divorced NOW. They told her to go back and start the procedures over, and not to get pregnant in the middle again, because if you become pregnant while getting a divorce, you're not allowed to get divorced.

This shit is not my fault. There isn't a goddamned thing I can really do about Ohio law, let alone Washington law, because I don't have a $2000 campaign contribution check to attach to a letter to "my" (read: corporations') representatives. The only thing I can do, legally, is group together with (hopefully) like-minded people (such as the union of which I am a member) and hope to be able to influence the politicians that way ...
... which isn't going to work, 'cause the corporations we're up against out-number and out-cash us.
Corporatism = fucking wrong, and is why privately funded political campaigns are inherently anti-democratic.
