Well perhaps if the manager had been on his toes and obtained a toe hold on his store by making his employees and customers toe the line, he would have got off on the right foot and wouldn't have criminals like this under foot, nor would he have to go toe to toe with this particular thief.
It's ridiculous to wait on someone hand and foot just to be stolen from, and now reduced to operate on a shoestring budget in order to be able to stand on his own two feet. Perhaps the owner should take this into consideration next time and no longer allow clients to leave without payment - to do otherwise would just be shooting himself in the foot.
The owner needs to put one foot in front of the other - one step at a time - to get back on his feet. Perhaps now he has learned his lesson, and will stay one step ahead of petty criminals.
What, like this?
