In short, a 16 year old boy believes his 16 year old girlfriend has kissed another boy on her holiday. So, logically, he puts her on a chair facing a computer screen on which the words "You're dead", carves his name into her chest with a knife, splashes turpentine over her, and sets her on fire. Well, wouldn't you? Then, he logically goes on to extinguish the flames, douse her *again*, and set fire to her again. Then he puts her in the shower and takes her to his last ex-girlfriend who takes a whole night to consider the idea that maybe calling an ambulance would be a good idea.

In summary: in 1998 the south-holland diocese reaches a settlement with an abuse-victim to the tune of paying the (12 year old) girl in question about 60 large ones. Okay, so, child abuse by a priest. Bad, but not exactly a new thing, unfortunately. Here's the kicker: in 2000, the diocese claims this sum on their third-party liability insurance. Insurance company rejects claim, and all insurance companies promptly exclude cases like this explicitly. And now, the diocese sues the insurance company, using phrases like "Not really any different from any other accident in the course of his duty" "Just like when someone's wallet gets stolen".
I do not have enough fluency in english swearwords to express how I feel about this. How can they possibly get the sheer unmitigated gall to do this? In fucking court, no less? If nothing else, are they really so *stupid* that they think this won't kill them completely as a PR issue? Let alone so morally misguided that I wouldn't trust these people to point me at the right country, let alone my sould to heaven?
