I think I have seen enough of these pics with that poor cow being attacked by dogs..to last a lifetime. Enough of the poor dogs...enough of that cow. BAH!!!
The babelfish translation goes: 1. 15 September, Phoenix, the state of Alabama. Two pitbulya, which were remained after hurricane without the masters, obtain to themselves food independently. 2. Bull, in all likelihood, that was strayed and repulsed from the herd became their victim. 3. Dogs did not confuse the presence of the photo journalist, who was located in the composition of that passed past the patrol of the national guard, which controls the regions, which suffered from "katriny". 4. Finale histories - dog are shot down.
So, pitbulls attack bull, get knocked around before being shot by the National Guard?
Those dogs were not shot by the national guard. Note the distinct lack of any bullet holes in them. They just got whooped by a substantionally larger animal. They are basically the 2 dumbest dogs ever. Personally, were I one of them, i'd have tried to eat the other before attacking an animal easily a thousand times my body weight.
Looking at the last picture, with the dog closest in the lower left corner, it looks like there is an entry wound right between the ears that is leaking downwards, along with the pooling blood next to its head (could be easily mistaken for a shadow). If it was 'bludgenoned' to death via the cow, there wouldn't be that much bleeding in such a concentrated area without alot of 'spillage' around him.
Having worked on dogs with gunshot wounds, you'd be surprised how hard it is to see them.
pitbulls are called that because they were bred to fight bulls in a pit. These dogs were probably acting on instinct in attacking the cow and odds are they met a much more humaine end by bullet then had they continued their attack to it's end. Had they not attacked the cow, they might have been shot anyway by the NG or police as dangerous in the situation present. ('wonder how that would have translatated)
There's a reason why wolves and wild dogs normally only hunt in packs of about half-a-dozen and they go after the immature or old-to-the-point-of-decrepitude members of the herd.
Didn't look like they'd been shot to me, either. A full-grown moose cow can take on a full-grown black bear (~400-500 lbs), and usually win. Unfortunately, the babelfish translation is sketchy, at best (it *is* babelfish, after all).
